Briefly in English

Frami is a concentrated research centre for companies and universities as well as being the city’s most significant meeting and congress building complex. Over 1,000 employees from companies and organisations work in the Frami area accompanied by 5,000 students. The meeting and congress centre hosts over 800 events annually.

The construction of Frami, on the banks of the river and in close proximity to the city centre, was a far-reaching solution to the turn of the century’s desire for technology parks. Now Frami is an integral part of the city’s heart. Walking from the station to Frami only takes 10 minutes, while new bus lines regularly travel between the travel centre, Frami and Ideapark.

The Frami area consists of seven buildings, the first of which, A, B and C buildings were constructed between 2001-2003. Professor Arto Sipinen was responsible for the design. D building, designed by architect Anssi Lassila was completed 2008-2009, while the latest to be constructed was Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences’ main building, Frami F, which was taken into use in 2013.

Frami A, E and F buildings are used by Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences, while in C building numerous companies are alongside over 100 experts from the University Consortium of Seinäjoki’s (University of Helsinki, University of Vaasa, Tampere University, Tampere University of Technology, Uniarts Helsinki) research groups and research hotel.

Frami is also an attractive and modern location for businesses. Frami’s flexible premises serve a diversity of companies, such as auditors, law and architect offices, sales and marketing companies, financing an insurance businesses, training and HR service firms as well as companies operating in the technology industry, environmental goods and services and construction sectors.
